About Landlord Law Conference

Landlord Law is an annual event for landlords, letting agents, housing advisers & lawyers, and anyone working in the Private Rented Sector. 

This is our ninth annual Landlord Law Conference and the second conference we have run online!

You will be able to watch two days of talks – all in the comfort of your own home, plus you get all the powerpoints, our Conference handbook with speakers notes, and access to the conference talk recordings for three months.

All our talks are with experts – mostly specialist solicitors and barristers, so you can rely on what they say.   

Make sure you and your staff are fully up to date and compliant with the law – and safe from prosecutions and penalties!

Conference Program

Talks are 45 minutes long - the speakers will talk for approx. 30 minutes with the final 15 minutes reserved for YOUR questions!
We also have some shorter presentations from our sponsors over the lunch time period.
All talks will be recorded so you can watch them later if you miss the live broadcast.

Note: all new legislation and case law will be covered - if necessary the program will be amended to include any new issues which might arise. So far as Coronavirus is concerned, all speakers will be considering its impact on their talk subject matter as part of their presentation.

About the Online Event

A quick look at what will happen and how it will work

For our online ‘virtual conference’ we are using special ‘online summit software’ called HeySummit. 

The procedure will be as follows:

  • All payments will be made via our normal online ‘shop’.
  • Everyone who books a place will then be imported into the online event nearer the time
  • You will be able to watch as many or as few of the live presentations as you like.
  • All of the live presentations will be recorded so missing them will not be a big problem – as you will be able to watch them later as a ‘replay’ (although you will lose your opportunity to ask questions).
  •  The replays and the Conference site will remain online for all delegates to view until Friday 20 August.

After the Conference is over we will draft up the CPD questions and put them online for those of you who need CPD.

BOOKING DETAILS:

What you get:

  • Access to Landlord Law Conference online website, where (at the appropriate times) you will be able to view:
  • 12 half hour talks from experts (mostly barristers and solicitors) followed by a 15 minutes question time for each talk
  • Two 1  hour Q&A sessions with speakers at the end of each day, and
  • A number of 30 minute information presentations from our sponsors, plus
  • Detailed notes from our speakers in the Conference Handbook – this will be in pdf format and will be available for you to download
  • 5 hours CPD by multiple choice questionnaire – your CPD certificate can be downloaded once you get 60% answers correct (this will only be available after the Conference is over)
  • Online access to all talks for three months after the conference ends
  • Information mailings about the Conference

The Conference fee is £250 (£208.33 + VAT) per person

  • Landlord Law Business Level Members – 20%
  • Landlord Law Basic Level Members – 10%

Landlord Law members will also be able to offset their Landlord Law points balance.

How to book your place:

  • If you are booking for more than one person, adjust the number in the ‘quantity’ box and click the grey ‘update basket’ button
  • If you are entitled to a Landlord Law  member discount this will be automatically applied – provided you are logged in when you book your place

Some Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why is the Landlord Law Conference now virtual online event?

A: Last year, in response to the spring Lockdown, we switched from a live one day conference to a virtual two-day event for the same price, which proved very popular.  In view of the continuing pandemic, a face to face event is clearly impossible.  We are therefore continuing to provide all our live training virtually.  

The Conference will be a convenient way for anyone (including people who are ‘self-isolating’) to get up to date with the law and experience an enjoyable (albeit virtual) event.

Q: What are my cancellation rights?

A; You can cancel within 14 days of booking without penalty and receive a full refund. Subject to any statutory rights you may have, requests for cancellation and refunds made outside of this period will be given at our discretion and will normally be subject to an administration fee of not less than £15.

Requests for cancellation and refund should be made by the Green Button Support service or by sending an email to conference @ landlordlaw.co.uk.

No refunds will be paid during or after the event (even if you have not watched the presentations).

Q: What if I am unable to watch the presentations on 11 and 12 May?

A: All the presentations will be recorded and you will be given access to the ‘replays’ for three months, ie until midnight on Friday 20 August.

Q: What if I have technical problems accessing the online conference website?

A: The software that we are using is used all over the world and you should not experience any issues.  We have extensive guidance linked from the Delegates Information Page.

If you do experience issues, let us know and we will try to help.  If access proves impossible for you we can refund your fee.

Q: Do you give discounts to charities and ‘not for profit’ organisations?

A: Yes, please contact us if this applies to you.  

Q: I am a Landlord Law member – how do I claim my discount?

A: Make sure you are logged in at the time of booking your place and your discount (assuming your membership is current) will be applied automatically.

Q: I am a Landlord Law member – how do I redeem my ‘points’?

A: During the booking process you should see a screen which will tell you what your points are and invite you to offset them.  

Note however that the system may have difficulties in doing this if you are also claiming a discount with a coupon.  In that case, buy with the coupon and contact us separately and ask us to do a manual refund for your points.

Q: I am an NRLA member – how do I log in to book online?

A: This is not an NRLA website so you cannot use your NRLA login.  However, if you have purchased one of our products in the past, you should have a Landlord Law login which was set up for that purchase.

Q: Is there CPD?

A: Yes, you can claim 5 hours CPD – most organisations such as ARLA, the NLA and the SRA will accept attendance at our events against your CPD.  CPD will be earned by completing a multiple-choice questionnaire and certificates can be downloaded if you answer 60% or more questions correctly.

The CPD questionnaire will be loaded up for delegates after the Conference has taken place.
