The Tenancy Trail

Answer:

The question was, is the occupation any of the following:

  • Where no rent (or equivalent) is paid
  • A holiday let
  • A care institution
  • A property let as a ‘temporary expedient’ to trespassers

The answer is that under Schedule 2 of the Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016, these are occupation types that (like lodger situations as discussed here) will only be an occupation contract if notice is given to the occupiers that they are an occupation contract.

For more information, see Schedule 2 of the Act.

Note that these occupation types are not covered on Landlord Law.
