Landlord Law has traditionally run occasional one-day workshops, on a (legal) theme for landlords, letting agents, housing association officials and anyone else who needs training in landlord & tenant law.
They were much enjoyed by the delegates and are probably our best and most effective training model.
Needless to say, these had to stop during the COVID pandemic. During that time we ran several online events which proved to be very popular, the main complaint being that for the most part speakers were hidden behind their powerpoints.
Others told us that although they appreciated why we were running online-only events, they would be happy when training could be in person again.
We have therefore decided to run a combined event – an in-person workshop for up to 10 delegates and live streaming this so other delegates can attend remotely.
This will be a much better experience for remote delegates, as you will be able to watch a high-quality film of the speaker rather than a PowerPoint presentation.
Remote attendees will be able to participate in the event by asking questions in the same way that they did in our fully online events.
This is our first workshop using live stream. We hope you will support it. If successful we hope to put on more events like this in the future.
This, the first of our live stream workshops, is on Ending Tenancies.
It is a popular workshop that Tessa has delivered several times, most recently in March 2018.

Tessa is a solicitor with over 30 years experience, and for most of that time, she has specialised in property and landlord and tenant related legal issues.
Between 1994 and 2013 she ran her own law firm, TJ Shepperson Solicitors and in 2001 she set up the Landlord Law service. This became so successful that she closed down her law practice to focus on this and her training services.
Tessa is also an author and experienced speaker and trainer. She lives in Norfolk with her husband and adult son.
Barnham Broom Hotel and spa (pictured) is a delightful venue about 20 minutes drive from Norwich.
It has recently been upgraded and has several meeting and conference rooms which are regularly used for events. This workshop will be in the Bickerston Room on the ground floor.
Facilities will include:
If you are travelling from a distance, you may want to consider staying at the hotel. Rates are available on their website.
If you wish to cancel – all you need to do is message us (using our Green Button messenger system), no later than 12 noon on the day of the event, requesting a cancellation and refund. We will then cancel your purchase (and your access) and refund your money within 14 days.
Note that if you have booked to attend in person there will be a fee of £50 (inclusive of VAT) if you cancel on the day of the event or during the seven days preceding the event, to take account of our payment to the venue for your attendance and refreshments.

For live steam online bookings, Business Level members will get an automatic 20% discount and Basic Level Members will get an automatic 10% discount. All members can offset their points. But you need to be logged in!
Note however that the automatic discounts may not work properly for teams members – so if this is you please get in touch.
Bulk bookings – bookings for 3 or more live stream delegates which are booked and paid for at the same time can claim a 10% discount with the coupon code 8HGJWXMP.

This includes:
A: Yes, live stream delegates can cancel at any time up to 12.00 noon on the day of the training and get a full refund. Similarly, in person delegates can cancel up to 12 noon on the day of the event and get a refund unless you are cancelling on the day of the event or during the seven days preceding the event when there will be a £50 cancellation fee (inclusive of VAT). All requests for cancellation should be made via our Green Button support service. This does not affect your statutory rights.
A: It depends. If we can, we will deliver the live stream without any in-person delegates (and refund a proportionate part of the fee to them). Or if this is impossible we could deliver it as a normal webinar. Or we may re-list the event for a later date (and give a refund if you are unable to attend the new date). If this situation arises you will be notified, and we will probably run a poll to see what delegates would prefer.
Note however that we cannot be held responsible for refunding the cost any hotel or other payments (eg for travel) you may have made in connection with this event. Please therefore can you ensure that any hotel or travel booking you make will be cancellable and/or arrange for suitable insurance cover.
A: Yes, we will require proof of triple vaccination or a negative lateral flow test from within the last 48 hours. If your test shows negative we will be happy to change your booking to live stream only and refund the difference.
A: This is unlikley as we will be using standard browser based software to deliver the live stream, which works well. However if you are unable to view the live stream, we will give a full refund , provided you let us know before 12.00 noon on the day of the event.
A: No. Although we expect to be recording the event, this will not be made available to delegates. However as set out above, if you are unable to attend, in most cases we will provide a full refund.
A: We prefer people to pay online and most discounts (for example for Landlord Law members) will only be available if you pay online. Note that a VAT invoice/receipt will be emailed to you after payment via our online system. However if you wish to pay on invoice this can be arranged but may be subject to a £10 admin fee.
A: No, payments must be made online via our system (where you can pay by card or pay pal) or by BACS if paying on invoice.
A: No, however all Landlord Law membes will get an automatic 10% discount and if you are booking live stream only, you will be able to offset your Landlord Law points.
A: Yes. If you are attending via live stream you will be able to ask questions via the on screen 'chat' box.
A: No. This workshop will not be covering the major changes to Welsh housing law due to come into force in July 2022.
A: No, unless you own rented property in England and Wales. This training is only suitable for landlords or others managing rented property in England and Wales UK.
A: Yes, provided you have either signed our delegates list if attending in person or (for live stream delegates) our system shows you have attended all sessions. If you qualify, you will be emailed a CPD certificate after the event.
A: The cameras will be focused on the speaker rather than the audience, however the audience may appear in some of the shots. If you do not wish to be included in this you should tell our cameraman at the start of the day and ask to be seated out of shot.
A: Book and pay without using your points and send us a message via the green button messenger service. We will do a manual refund for you.
A: I am afraid you can only use one coupon - so if you have two you will need to decide which one to use. However Landlord Law members can use a coupon and still get their automatic discount.
A: You can see the green button at the bottom right of your screen. Just click it and type your message in the box. Then click the down arrow below the box to close. Or click here for a short guide (you may need to wait for the popup messages to load).
