Quick News Update boxes – a new feature on Landlord Law

July 15, 2024

Reading the newsRenting property is a legal transaction, and the law is subject to change.

Landlords and others in the Private Rented Sector need to keep their ear to the ground and monitor the landlord press to keep up to date with what is happening.

Landlord Law and the Landlord Law Blog (in particular, our Newsround) are both ways you can keep up to date. However, we don’t cover all items.

Not all news items are sufficiently important to warrant a blog post all to themselves. However, I often see a news item, such as a new legal case, that I would like to draw people’s attention to without having to write an entire blog post.

To help with this we have set up our Quick News Updates

The Quick News Update boxes

The Quick News Updates are little boxes where we give:

  • The date of the update
  • A heading
  • Brief text, and (in most cases)
  • A link to where you can find out more

Sometimes there won’t be a link but we will give one if we can. For example, this could be

  • One of our own posts
  • A news item from one of the landlord news services
  • A page on the gov.uk website
  • A legal case report

The six most recent news updates can be found on the Landlord Law Home Page and on the Members Dashboard, where they will move around on a loop.

If you want to see an older News Update, you will find them all on the Quick News Updates page.  You will find a link to it below the six updates.

And finally

This coming year is likely to be a significant one for landlords.  The new Labour government have promised to bring in changes including the abolition of section 21.

This new Landlord law feature will help keep you up to date.
