Legal help, services and support for private residential landlords
If you need to evict a tenant – this is not a good time. There are massive delays and constant rule changes. As at the date of this post, it looks as if things may have settled down – but we thought that before and things were changed again!
All in all, this is not a good time to be managing your own eviction claim. If you get the slightest thing wrong, your claim is likely to be set back months – and self-managing landlords do not always have the time to follow the legal news or keep checking the Landlord Law Eviction Guide to see if anything has changed.
Although paying for solicitors at a time when your tenant may not be paying you any rent can be difficult – it could, in the long run, turn out to be the cheaper option. Economising on critical legal work is frequently a false economy.
But which solicitors should you use?
Although we have for many years provided an instruction form allowing members to instruct Landlord Action – it is good to have a choice and I am delighted to announce that members can now also instruct David Smith’s firm JMW Solicitors to carry out standard eviction work on a fixed fee basis.
David is a long term friend of Landlord Law and he has delivered many of our monthly training webinars and spoken at our Conferences. I know that many members trust his advice and service and will welcome an opportunity to instruct his firm on a fixed fee basis.
The information page on JMW Solicitors is here. Members will find the instruction form for possession claims here.
Our general (members only) solicitors for possession proceedings page is here.
