Which possession proceedings?

Have you complied with the new rules introduced by the Deregulation Act 2015?

These include:

  • Compliance with prescribed legal requirements (currently service of a gas safety certificate and an EPC)
  • Service of the ‘prescribed information’ (in this context service of the governments ‘How to Rent’ booklet

Note that the rules are slightly different depending on whether your tenancy started or was renewed on after 1 October 2015 or not.

It is assumed in the rest of this guide that landlords are aware of and have complied with these rules.
