Its a good book, the main problem with it was that it was last reviewed in 2019. Which is quite a long time ago now!
So I decided to update it. Now this is less easy than it sounds. The ebook had been created by someone for me using the InDesign program, and foolishly I had omitted to ask for the InDesign file. Which meant that editing it was a problem!
I was able to edit it, just, but only in Acrobat. Now editing a pdf document in Acrobat is possible, but it is not the best way to do things, and inevitably, some of the formatting got out of line and I had to shove things around.
I managed to edit the text all right, but there then seemed to be an issue with the text showing on the right, which meant that I had to do more moving around of text boxes.
After a while, the file began to fight back and started showing rows of dots instead of new text. Fortunately, by then, all the important text editing had been done!
But this means that the ebook is less than perfect in its formatting! It is all readable, but there are a few anomalies.
I took the view that people would rather have an up-to-date ebook with a few things out of line than an old out of date ebook that was perfectly formatted.
So that’s the situation at the moment. I am reluctant to pay to get it re-done professionally just now as the whole thing may need to be re-done again when the Renters Reform Bill becomes law (if it becomes law).
