This is a recording of a 3 hour Masterclass given by solicitor Tessa Shepperson on 21 April. It goes into a lot of detail about the new rules. Once you have watched it, you will understand not only the new rules (and be in a better position to avoid penalty fines!) but why the government brought them in.
Note that Landlord Law Business Level members can watch this as part of their membership entitlement.
This is our prime product. Landlord Law is designed to help landlords manage their rented properties within the law and has been updated to comply with the Renters Rights Act.
Landlord Law membership provides ongoing support, updates, documents and training to help landlords stay compliant and confident in the rapidly changing post-RRA world. They can also ask solicitor Tessa Shepperson ‘quick questions’ in the members’ forum
This is available via Tessa’s Easy Law Services website. Training can include in house training for letting agents, advice organisations, Local Authorities and the like.
If the training you require is not something we can provide, we can source a suitable barrister to deliver it for you.
Note that we offer a monthly CPD by multiple-choice questionnaire. If you get 6 or more of the 10 questions correct you will earn 1 hour / one point CPD and also 10 Landlord Law points.
Note that some of these are only available to Business Level members.
All members can attend a monthly training webinar. Topics and speakers vary but are generally on a legal issue which is relevant to landlords.
Speakers are usually a specialist housing barrister or solicitor. The webinars are recorded and are then available to view for all Business Level members.
The training webinar recordings home page is here.
This lists all the webinars available for Business Level members to view.
This was an online training workshop with solicitor David Smith which was recorded on 15 June 2023. It is now available to Landlord Law Business Level Members.
Landlord Law is a legal information site, but to properly understand landlord and tenant law, landlords should have a basic understanding of general legal principles.
To help we have a series of seven short courses. The first six are on important legal topics. The seventh, on agency law, is a bit more detailed and is included because so many landlords use letting agents (who are governed, although many may not realise it) by agency law.
The courses available are as follows:
Note that these courses are only available to Landlord Law members.
Between 2013 and 2022 we ran an annual Landlord Law Conference. All the talks were recorded (with the exception of 2016 where only a few recordings are available).
The Conference talks have now been added to Landlord Law and can be viewed by Business Level Members along with the speakers’ PowerPoint presentations and notes.
The Conference recordings are linked from here »
They are not available to non-members or ‘Basic Level’ members.
These are step-by-step guides.
An essential kit which will help you carry out an ‘audit’ of your properties and property business, ensuring that you are compliant with the law.

The Renters Rights Act 2025 will bring in significantly more Local Authority enforcement action as, with effect from 1 May 2026, they are legally required to enforce the landlord legislation in their area.
The penalties and fines are very significant. Landlords need to prepare and ensure that they are compliant with all the rules to avoid being fined.
This kit explains the Local Authority powers and discusses all the various breaches and offences which can make you liable for a penalty fine, or a Rent Repayment Order claim.
This Kit, based on two training webinars with EHO Paul FitzGerald, is currently only available to Business Level Landlord Law members.
It gives detailed guidance on how to deal with damp issues in your rented property.
This Kit, based on training with expert Sarah Bradley, is currently only available to Business Level Landlord Law members.
It details the legal obligations that landlords need to comply with when dealing with and transporting waste.
Available just to Landlord Law members (both Basic and Business level members) this Kit looks at the law and rules which apply if the landlord or the tenant die during a tenancy.
Guidance on how to get access when your tenants refuse. Includes guidance on obtaining a county court injunction.
